Philosophy of Education
All students can learn. It is my responsibility as an educator to adapt my teaching style and techniques so that I can reach as many students with varying learning styles and abilities. I want to be the teacher that students feel comfortable with, can come to for advice, and look forward to coming back to my class. I want students to remember me as fun, honest, nice, and most of all caring. As a teacher I am a HUMAN developer, and I will always strive to be a role model for all students. I approach student learning H-olistically, and I know not all students learn in the same way.
I U-nderstand diversity, and I know my classroom will be a mixture of many different backgrounds and cultures. I want to give each student the opportunity to express themselves and who they are as a person. I understand that every student is unique and creative in their own way. The key to an effective classroom is management. I will M-ange my classroom using the various techniques and methods that I have learned throughout my field experiences and time at WVSU. As a teacher my mission is to be a student focused educator. I will learn from my students as much as they learn from me. My students will brain storm together, solve real life problems, encourage each other, and achieve together.
I will A-ssess my students using diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments that I have learned throughout my learning experiences at WVSU. Teaching requires you to create an environment that challenges your students and inspires them to constantly strive for more. Teaching is about trying different styles and doing whatever it takes to ensure that every student is learning. Everyday there is a New type of technology being created to enhance the learning of students, and I am fully committed to learning and growing as a teacher. I am willing to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of my students. All students can learn, and through team work my students will grow and learn together.
